wedding shots*I had just finished watching “In Her Shoes” starring Toni Collette (I’ve liked her acting since her debut in “Muriel’s Wedding”.), Cameron Diaz and Shirley Maclaine. The movie was very touching, the typical Hallmark type of melodrama – sisterly fights, family squabbles, boy meet girl, boy-girl miscommunications, life lessons and last but not least, a wedding thrown in as part of the happy ending. Still I am such a sucker.I must say though that judging from the first 15 minutes of the movie, which covered up to Chapter 4 in the book, I think the book was better. And funnier. I read those 4 chapters in Borders last weekend while waiting for my nephew to finish his ride in the indoor theme park. Being deprived of sleep for days, I dozed off for about an hour. While I was certain I did not snore, or drool, nor was my mouth wide open at any point in time, I would think it still was not a pretty sight. Sigh…it’s one of those silly things I do. Nonetheless, I do plan to go again and spend a whole Saturday to finish up the book. This time, I may just bring my neck pillow. Heh. Anyway, back to the movie. Rose’s (Toni's character) wedding was kinda nice. A garden wedding. The bride walked down the aisle following the beat of a percussion. It’s almost close to how I imagined mine would be. Only difference is I would be playing Westlife. Ha. Given a choice, I would prefer to elope. I’m still waiting for the day when Prince would knock on my door and propose, and I will just drop everything and go “Yes! Yes! Yes!” followed by a triple-loop somersault. Hmm…me am getting fainting spells already imagining that. He definitely is the SEXIEST MAN ALIVE! Sexy. SEXY!!! Pant. Pant. Pant. Pant. Anyways, if I don’t have that luxury, a simple no-fuss do will suffice. And you know what people say about weddings – that it is one of the most important event in one’s life journey. If not, one of the happiest. And most couples would take wedding shots to reminisce the happy memories. Aaah…the wedding shots. I’ve seen many bad ones which have induced feelings of wanting to hara-kiri the photographer. And then there are the cheesy powerpoint presentations with corny lines played repetitively over dinner. But then there’s some which exude great taste and they just make me wanna go grab any ball-scratching, nose-digging-with-pinky-finger scruffy-looking Ah Beng on the street and drag him to the altar so that I too can have those great shots to call my own. Having said that, I am very pleased to present to you the best wedding shots I’ve seen this year. Let this be a good example to those who are planning to get married. The shots belong to Joe and Lisa. Lisa was a client turned friend. She’s one of those few whom I hit off with almost immediately upon introduction – on both professional and personal levels. She’s multitalented – she used to be in a local girl band and has performed in Rock the World 2 and super fun to be with. Intelligent. Witty. Funny. The good taste in music is apparent via her choice of Van Morrison’s “Someone Like You” when they made their grand entrance into the ballroom during the wedding dinner. Anyone who likes Van Morrison obviously has great taste! As you can see below, Joe and Lisa make a great looking couple. I am sad to announce that they will be migrating to Melbourne this Monday, which leave me with one less kaki for live gigs, but hey, I am looking forward to having free accommodation when I visit Australia next. *hint* I wish both of you a blessed, love-filled life together. May God’s blessing be upon both of you all the days of your lives. My dear Lisa, I leave you with the poem which was featured in the movie “In Her Shoes”. [Since you openly said it to my face that my Fifu poem sucked big time. Hmmph!] A beautiful poem for a beautiful being. I will definitely miss you lots. Take care and keep in touch. God bless. “I Carry Your Heart With Me” by E.E Cummings I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart) I am never without it (Anywhere I go you go,my dear; and whatever is doneby only me is your doing, my darling) I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true) And it's you are whatever a moon has always meant And whatever a sun will always sing is you Here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which growshigher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) And this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart) P/S: o Saturday breakfast is on you! :) o For the rest of you, the photographer's contact is : Just Married (2032 2663) - Joe Ho (012 398 2883) December 02, 2005 // anjali* pranced on tip-toes all over the keyboard at 4:45 pm | |
